Initial Assessment and Training session

Struggling with your dog’s behaviour and need some help to get back on track?

This session is designed to be done at your home, with plenty of time to chat through all your concerns. We will take a look at exactly what’s going on, and get the first steps of your training plan in place for you to continue after the session.

This initial session usually lasts a minimum of 90 minutes. It can sometimes be much longer depending on what’s needed and how your dog is coping! I have a fixed fee for our initial session as I don’t want anyone feeling rushed. This session forms the first session of all of my standard Packages, so there is no need to book this session if you have already booked a training package with me!

Please note all one-to-one appointment times must be arranged directly with me on completion of booking to ensure availability.

General Training

I offer standalone dog training sessions for any dog and owner.

This one-to-one session is perfect for those who want dog training help for normal behaviour management such as loose lead walking, scavenging, or recalls! Whether you want to brush up on your dog’s existing training, or introduce new steps to keep your relationship with your dog happy and stress-free, I can help with training and guidance.

This session is also ideal for puppy owners who would just like a single session to ensure all the puppy training foundation is on track.

Behavioural Training

This session may also be suitable for owners struggling with more complex behaviour issues such as reactivity, fears and phobias, resource guarding, anxiety, traffic chasing, handling & grooming issues, and many more. An in-person assessment like this can be helpful prior to creating a custom package for your specific needs. See my Ruffmutz Behaviour Consultations information here.

For behaviour assessments, there will be a questionnaire for you to complete and a short form for your vet that both need completing and returning at least a week before your session date. I will discuss management prior to the visit to ensure the safety of everyone, including your dog.

You MUST tell Ruffmutz prior to booking any sessions if your dog has ever bitten or tried to bite either yourself, anyone else or any animals, either in public or at home so we can ensure all appropriate safety measures are taken to keep everyone safe.
