Ruff to Relaxed: Happy Vet Visits

£69.00

Designed for all ages of dog from new puppies right through to seniors, this course aims to help your dog feel happier and more relaxed with handling and husbandry behaviours at home and in the hands of care professionals.

Designed for all ages of dog from a new puppy right through to senior dogs, this online webinar series aims to help you help your dog feel more happy and relaxed when being handled for necessary care, either by your family or when going to the vets, going to the groomers, or attending rehabilitation sessions with professionals such as physiotherapists, hydrotherapists, etc. Vet visits don’t have to be stressful!

We all know that even routine vet visits can be stressful for everyone, dogs and owners! From dogs who haven’t yet had to visit the vet, through to dogs who have suffered a painful injury or illness, or dogs who have simply associated the vet with stress, there is a way to improve ease of care and handling. With understanding, training, planning, and the right support, owners can help ensure our dogs are as comfortable as they can be through any necessary appointments. Of course this also helps to reduce owner anxiety as well! Having training in places ensures a more positive, happier, and more relaxed visit for you and your dog, as well as helping veterinary staff and other canine professionals to assess, diagnose, treat, groom, and/or care for your dog more effectively.

Run via Zoom and bringing together all the things I’ve learned between working in rescue, working within the vet industry and being a trainer, and of course a dog owner, this course aims to give you both practical and ethical advice and training tips, for you to put into practice in your own time, to work at your dogs own pace.

Topics covered:

  • Why our dogs might find these environments scary & why we want ( and need) them to feel more comfortable
  • How to understand what are our dogs telling us
  • Management strategies: for when the visit can’t wait, and how we can work with our veterinary, rehabilitation, and grooming teams to help support our pets.
  • All the things (there’s a lot!) you can do at home to help your dog feel more comfortable, from confidence-building exercises, environmental prep, handling and examination, some specific trained husbandry behaviours & other behaviours to support your dog through care
  • An overview of muzzle training
  • And lots more!

The course will be a mix of online presentations, live demos with my own dog (if she wants to join in), and plenty of opportunities for questions.

Please note I will NOT be discussing prescription medications , or specific behavioural diagnosis. I am not a vet! Likewise, this webinar series is not a four week magic fix, but will provide a thorough foundation for continuing training yourself.

The live session dates are as follows:

  • Part 1: 7pm July 28th 2026
  • Part 2: 7pm August 11th
  • Part 3: 7pm August 25th
  • Part 4: 7pm September 8th

These webinars will be recorded, so once booked, if you can’t attend live, you can catch up when  it’s convenient for you.

As a thank you for joining us for the first run of this course, we are running it at the special price of £69 for the full series, and it is open to anyone across the UK and the Channel Islands. As a very special thank you, the first 5 people to sign up will also receive a free 30-minute individual Zoom session to chat through their own dog’s situation.
